Group B action came to a close with four entertaining matches. This group was keenly contested and the last quarter-finalists were not finalised until the very last game. MTV Stallions top the group followed by hosts 1.Kieler HTC, SG Hameln and First Contact, while Moorburger TSV were eliminating finishing at the bottom of the standings.
Newcomers SG Hameln enjoyed an eventful day, winning two of their three games, but narrowly missed out on second spot. SGH beat First Contact in the first match of the day and then cruised past hosts 1.Kieler HTC to secure five wins on the trot.
Hosts 1.Kieler HTC bounced back from that previous defeat to hold off a spirited chase from First Contact to seal second spot in the standings.
Needing just one win from three matches to seal a quarter-final spot, First Contact clinched the all-important victory in the final match of the day with a well-timed chase against on song SG Hameln. Zahirshah Zakhil scored only the second fifty of the tournament, firing an unbeaten 56 off 29 balls to take his side to the knockout stages.
