Team Preview for Pakistanska Föreningen

Pakistanska started with a solid win over Stockholm Mumbai Indians before rain ruined their strong start on Tuesday. Playing the first two matches on Wednesday’s schedule, they need to put up some strong performances to stay in the mix.

Captain: Sameer Ali Khan

Main Wicket-Keeper: Choudry Share Ali

Key Players:

Sameer Ali Khan started with a fine performance of 37 runs and three wickets in the opening match, before falling for a duck in their second appearance. He will be very hungry for runs against Indiska CC.

Choudry Share Ali has been consistent at the top of the order and dependable behind the wickets.

Tasaduq Hussain came back well with runs in the second match before the rain set in.  After a duck in the first match, it’s just what he needed.  He has also been shown to be an economical bowler so far.

Team Preview for Indiska CC

Indiska won the opening match of the tournament by a single run over Stockholm CC, before faltering in their second match. Indiska also won a nail-biting finish in a 5 over thrash against Stockholm Mumbai Indians late on Tuesday. Can Indiska impress against a feisty Pakistanska side?

Captain: Dipanjan Dey

Main Wicket-Keeper: Suhas Murali

Key Players:

Dipanjan Day has been impressive with both bat or ball in hand. He hit a crisp 27 off 13 balls in the opening match, and has also taken the new ball.  As captain, he shoulders much of the responsibility and he proved the difference once more for his team in the nervy win against Stockholm Mumbai Indians.

Gurvinder Singh bats in the top order and also opens the bowling.  In the first match he impressed by only conceding five runs off his two overs.  He’s yet to really show what he can do with the bat so this is a good opportunity for him.

Sanjay Kumar-Sareen might be 48 but showed age is just a number in the first match.  His experience was critical in his side’s one run victory in the tournament opener.

Mr Maximo’s tip: Pakistanska Föreningen

How could anybody not be excited with the scent of India and Pakistan rivalry in the air?  This is a really difficult one to call, but I just think that Pakistanska have slightly more reliable players across the board when it comes to the crunch.  So, PF for me, with Sameer Ali Khan to lead them to a narrow victory.
