PREVIEW: Match 7 - Madrid United vs Levante – Dream11 European Cricket Series Alicante

Levante are the last team to make a belated entry into the Dream11 European Cricket Series, coming up against capital-city opposition in Madrid United, who enjoy back-to-back matches.

In 2019, the Levante Lightning enjoyed their most successful season in their brief seven-year history, winning the double of both the T20 and limited over competitions in Spain’s ECCL (East Coast and Central League). However, Levante will have to recover from the disappointment of losing to Minhaj Barcelona, which denied them a place at ECL20 this summer. For Levante, watch out for Azhar Abbas and Furqan Zameer who can both find the boundary with ease and were not afraid of the big occasion in the national finals. All-rounder Shakeel Khan is a useful performer with bat and ball as well.

Madrid United performed capably in the January tournament finishing as runners up to Sporting Alfas and should not be underestimated this time around either. Watch out for the big performers for Madrid from the opening game of day two where the capital city side should enjoy a leisurely introduction against the Intellectuals. With uncertainty regarding the availability of Spanish international Tauqeer Hussain, wily spinner Kashif Rana definitely has to be respected, while the likes of Abdul Hafeez Niazi and Ahsan Yaqoob, can both be destructive matchwinners with bat and ball on their day.
