PREVIEW: Match 12 - Levante vs La Manga – Dream11 European Cricket Series Alicante

La Manga will be the fresher of the two sides for this encounter, having not featured since Match 4 on day one when they suffered a heavy loss to Pinatar Pirates. Still smarting from that defeat, La Manga have had a lot of time to reflect and will look to put things right against Levante.

This one is also too close to call but as a former Sporting Alfas player, Adam Alger will know the pitch conditions, can also keep wicket and bowl right arm military medium if necessary. Alger, was a star of the recent T10 tournament held at the same ground, including a fantastic unbeaten century (off 36 balls) which promptly earned him a recall to the Spanish national team. Expectations are high at La Manga after the recent signings of internationals Paul Hennessy and Ravi Panchal (from the Pinatar Pirates) to bolster a squad already boasting the likes of Alger. Both Hennessy and Panchal will have plenty to prove on day three with a lot riding on this game. The loser of this final game on day three may face a struggle to secure a semi-final spot in the Dream11 European Cricket Series Alicante.

Levante will be game-tough after facing the hosts Sporting Alfas earlier in the day. Watch out for their key performers from that tricky encounter, but especially fast bowler Ibtisam Ahmad who can send down some serious chin music. The talented Tariq Afridi, skipper Azhar Abbas and Ajmal Ilyas have all made valuable all-round contributions to their cause, while Shakeel Khan is a useful performer with bat and ball as well. This one is also too close to call and that dreaded scoreboard pressure may come into play if the side batting first can post anything in the region of 105+ - provided the side bowling second can resist the heat in the field.
